Terry Schiavo - Strike Two Against America

Terri's life was significant. Her death brought the lie to the assertion of the lawyers and judges and experts that her life was meaningless, and therefore disposable. Terri's case was a test for the nation. It was a test for the President, the Congress, the Judiciary, the Governor of Florida, the State legislature, the State justice system, the police, the medical practitioners, doctors, nurses, the media, and every citizen.

Roe Vs. Wade brought out the question, "When does life begin?" Terri Schiavo brought out the question "When does life end?" In both cases, the state presumed to know the answers. Instead of turning to its deep moral traditions and rich spiritual heritage and history, the state dismissed them as "religious belief", and instead turned to science and the opinions of men. It abandoned its life-affirming moral code and embraced a cold and heartless legalism that sanctioned murder. For a second time, the state dismissed God and said, "Away with Your religion!"

Roe Vs. Wade brought millions of abortions. Michael Schiavo and Judge Greer inaugurated euthanasia. How many disabled will be legally killed in the wake of Terri’s state-sponsored execution?

It’s strike two against America.
